Unshakable Kingdom
I’ve only been in two substantial earthquakes in my life. One was in San Diego and it felt like the floor was coming out from under me. The other was while I was in a hotel in Cairo, Egypt and had just stepped out of the elevator on the top floor of the hotel when I felt the whole building swaying back and forth. It was a weird feeling - a frightening feeling.
But those were just earthquakes. What will happen when the Almighty God shakes the heavens and earth? Is what you are standing on going to be able to support you? Is what you are trusting in going to remain?
Everything will be shaken. What will remain? Our pride and pretense will be shaken; our power and position will be shaken; our prestige and possessions will be shaken. What will remain? When those things are taken away will there be anything of you that is left?
Only Christ. That is why “Christ in us” is our hope of glory. Only what is of Him and in Him will remain. Because he alone is true, good, real, solid and enduring and he makes us true, good, real, solid and enduring.
In Christ we are receiving an unshakable Kingdom and so we are to live lives of gratitude and worship.
Please read Hebrews 12:18-29 and listen to the message.
